Following training and with mentor support, the Peri-operative specialist practitioner (PSP) will integrate into the existing surgical teams to carry out this extended role which will include routine pre-operative assessment, routine management of the surgical patient, undertaking practical procedures and will work towards admitting emergency surgical patients.
